Version 0.4.2
October 24, 2026
New
- Pull request lists search the host when you filter by label or author, and filters narrow the list on every host that supports them.
- Usage includes Muse Code sessions.
- Screen readers announce when the open thread starts, needs you or finishes.
- PDFs in the preview can be annotated.
- In the mobile app, Usage and Settings are in the workspace navigation, and you can choose which tabs it shows.
Fixes
- Stop also stops a thread's subagents, and clears commands the server already finished.
- Browsers and Chrome that an agent starts close when the agent stops.
- A stuck quit no longer leaves the desktop app impossible to close, and the app crashes less when a preview tab fails during agent screenshots.
- Threads resume faster, database reads no longer wait behind writes, and new threads no longer hang when a project's machine is offline.
- Pairing with a server on a different version explains the mismatch instead of reconnecting forever, and the service's recovery steps name the exact install to run.
- Typing a reply to a pending Claude approval declines it and sends the reply to the agent that asked.
- A forked thread's first
/compactcompacts the history it inherited, and an instructed compact no longer runs a plain one first. - Interrupts an agent starts no longer say "by user".
- Pull request watches wake when skipped or remaining checks finish, and periodic pull request discovery pauses while no app is open.
- Deleting a thread with subagents cleans up their worktrees.
- Claude subscription usage shows through proxies, Codex shows ChatGPT's current plan names, and usage notices keep Codex sign-in guidance.
- OpenCode retries its model list until it loads, Cursor turns that end in a connection error fail instead of hanging, and Pi no longer fails on blank input placeholders.
- Bitbucket no longer gets flooded with requests at startup.
- Pasted images show their upload tile at once, Cmd+K search hides subagents and favors recent, whole-word matches, and Cmd+B toggles the sidebar unless text is selected.
- Agent recordings follow the browser frame rate setting.
- Streaming replies and long terminal pastes use less CPU.
- The mobile app fixes layouts on iPad, the Duo and Android, keeps chips readable in light mode, opens links in pull request comments, and its Live Activity no longer shows a running-agent count.
Version 0.4.1
October 23, 2026
New
- Settings can give instructions for how threads are titled.
- Messages from other agents fold into one-line rows, on desktop, web and mobile.
- Telemetry export settings show where the running endpoint came from.
Fixes
- The web app served by your own server no longer offers Founding Bot Connect sign-in, which couldn't return to it. Sign in from the desktop app, the mobile app or x.founding.bot.
- Managed Codex sign-ins renew during long turns, and Codex resumes a parent thread after its subagents finish.
- Pull request watches wake up when a repository reports no checks, and check counts stay in sync.
- Large databases load the shell faster, and subagent updates no longer slow the thread stream.
- The sidebar follows the active thread when you go back or forward.
- Provider updates no longer pop toasts at launch, and toasts use their full width.
- Tool images beyond the preview limit are marked, and tool icons keep their detail in light mode.
- The subagent bar stays readable in narrow chat columns.
- Codex usage counts the first request of an inherited thread.
- GitCafe lists, merge progress and reviews match git.cafe, and Forgejo merges follow the repository's delete-branch setting.
- On Windows, the server starts without waiting on the startup environment check.
- The mobile app moves between drafts and threads the same way everywhere, and undo toasts keep their action on one row.
Version 0.4.0
October 22, 2026
Security
- On Windows, a chat message with an image or file link on a network path (
\\host\share) could make Founding Bot X send your Windows sign-in hash to that host without a click. Network paths now only open inside the thread's project.
New
- Claude's idle compaction has a default in Settings, with overrides per Claude instance.
- When Claude asks for approval in full access, the request says why.
- Automation messages show as compact rows in the timeline.
- Webhook filters can match any item in a list with a
[]path wildcard. - GitCafe pull requests can request reviewers and add labels, and show line counts.
- ChatGPT Business usage limits offer a request you can copy to your admin.
- Exported telemetry includes how long runs take and how they end.
Fixes
- Project scripts and setup actions receive
FOUNDINGBOT_X_PROJECT_ROOTandFOUNDINGBOT_X_WORKTREE_PATH, and agents and terminals no longer see T3 Code's setting names. - Pull requests from forks check out to
foundingbot-x/pr-<number>/<branch>. - A Claude agent stops when the server that started it stops.
- SSH hosts no longer keep every old runtime after desktop updates.
- Removing a worktree on Windows no longer deletes what its junctions point to.
- Clones retry over HTTPS when the SSH key is refused.
- Pushes the remote refuses, and failed provider updates, say why.
- Answered questions say "already answered" instead of "not found".
- Agents get a short, current model list instead of the full catalog.
- Codex keeps every file of a multi-file patch.
- OpenCode shows its own out-of-funds message, and cancelled todos no longer keep its todo list running.
- Arabic and Hebrew text reads and navigates right to left.
- File mentions like
posts.$postId.tsxor[id].tsxstay chips, and typing a price no longer opens the skill menu. - Streaming replies re-render less of the window, so long threads stay smooth.
- GitLab 15.7 to 17.10 merge request diffs load, and Azure DevOps repositories with a space in the name list their pull requests.
- JetBrains IDEs open file links at the right column.
- The mobile app fixes a crash when opening a pull request and a possible freeze after closing search, and improves iPad and iPhone Duo layouts.
Upgrading
Update from 0.3.0 as usual: the desktop app updates itself, and foundingbot-x update updates the command line. If a project script reads T3CODE_PROJECT_ROOT or T3CODE_WORKTREE_PATH, switch it to the FOUNDINGBOT_X_ names. Developers running from source need Node 26.12.1.
Version 0.3.0
October 21, 2026
New
- Run threads from the terminal. On the computer that runs Founding Bot X,
foundingbot-x thread start, send, show, andliststart a thread, message it, and read it back, no sign-in needed. See Scripts on the host. - The composer stays usable while an agent waits for an approval. Sending a message declines the request and tells the agent what to do instead.
- Thread links in chat show as chips, and thread chips show their project's icon.
Fixes
- Founding Bot Connect addresses now start with
foundingbot-relay-. A computer linked before this release keeps its old address until you link it again. - The app says "Founding Bot account" everywhere it means your account.
- Checkpoint commits are authored by "Founding Bot", the same as stacked pull request rebases.
- Stop on a delegated task always clears it, even when it is stuck, and delegates finish once their leftover work settles.
- Stopping a thread sends the held messages you selected.
- Steering a finished turn starts a new block of work instead of stacking under the old one.
- ⌘Z undoes a settle even when the composer has focus.
- Thread search shows the same pull request badge as the sidebar.
- Images on their own line no longer sit beside their label.
- Stalled clones say "Stalled" instead of showing a frozen speed.
- Storage cleanup no longer counts space it didn't free.
- Codex compaction and resumed sessions no longer show usage warnings for skipped turns.
- Git commands start faster on macOS.
- The desktop app moves to Electron 44.9.3, which blocks compromised certificate authority keys.
Upgrading
Update from 0.2.1 as usual: the desktop app updates itself, and foundingbot-x update updates the command line.
Version 0.2.1
October 21, 2026
New
- Webhook automations can pick which requests run. Add Filters to a webhook-triggered scheduled task so it runs only for matching requests, such as a pull request being opened. Set a Replay key to ignore repeated deliveries, or a Coalesce key to combine a burst into one run. See Webhook automations.
- Mermaid diagrams in chat use a new renderer.
Fixes
- Stopping a thread no longer sends a notification that it finished.
- Stopping a thread also cancels a delegated task's queued follow-up when the task's own thread is idle.
- The notice to reclaim database space lists every machine that needs it in one place.
- Dialogs keep their content while they close instead of going blank.
- Markdown tables are left-aligned again.
- The approval menu's actions are more compact.
- Limits bars show the even-pace mark as a small tick.
Upgrading
Update from 0.2.0 as usual: the desktop app updates itself, and foundingbot-x update updates the command line.
Version 0.2.0
October 20, 2026
Founding Bot X
- Founding Bot Connect checks that your other devices can reach this computer.
foundingbot-x connect status, the end offoundingbot-x connectsetup, and Settings → Connections say whether the computer is reachable and, if not, which part fails and how to fix it, with a link to the new Founding Bot Connect troubleshooting guide. - Founding Bot Connect answers faster: its servers now run next to its database. This is already live for every version.
foundingbot-x doctornames the old database file it can delete (state.sqlite) instead of a version number.
New
- Run iOS Simulators in Expo's cloud: add an EAS Simulator host in Settings → Integrations. Sessions bill your Expo account, so each host limits how many run and for how long.
- Every pull request's +/− count shows how much is code, tests, and docs, without waiting for a hover.
- Adding a project to another machine takes you straight to it.
Fixes
- When a computer stops answering because it froze or is overloaded, the app says so instead of blaming your network or DNS.
- Snoozed threads stay hidden while their agent wakes for background work.
- Updates remove old runtimes nothing uses, instead of keeping every version on disk.
- Settings save again when the writing style has default fields.
- HTML visualizations show their full height instead of cropping and scrolling.
- Downloads in the built-in browser no longer echo the contents of
data:links.
Rolled back
Two changes from 0.1.3 are withdrawn for more testing: the connecting screen while the desktop app's server starts (it still shows for WSL), and half-screen tiling on scaled displays.
Upgrading
Update from 0.1.3 as usual: the desktop app updates itself, and foundingbot-x update updates the command line.
Version 0.1.3
October 20, 2026
Founding Bot X
foundingbot-x connect logoutnow also revokes the command line's Founding Bot Connect sign-in on Founding Bot, not just on your machine.
New
- Add a project to another machine from the composer's machine picker: choose Add to another machine under Run on. Its

- Choose what the in-app browser's address bar searches, including a custom search URL, in Settings → Integrations.
- Math in messages renders as LaTeX, and Mermaid diagrams show math labels.
- Limits bars mark where an even pace would put you, so you can see whether you're ahead of your quota.
- HEIC image attachments and PDFs in browser previews now display.
Faster
- Switching threads, streaming in other threads, provider status updates, and typing in dialogs re-render far less of the app.
- Opening a thread lands on the newest message right away, and scrolling a huge thread's history no longer loops.
- Large changed-file trees, long composer code blocks, and find in a long thread stay responsive.
- The desktop app shows a connecting screen while the local server starts, and a large database no longer blocks startup for minutes.
- Idle terminals, disabled providers, and Git status checks use less CPU in the background.
Fixes
- Claude Plan mode asks before writing files in Auto and Full access.
- Claude task lists survive a server restart and stay in the composer between turns.
- A full Claude context window no longer shows as a usage limit, and the context meter shows your auto-compact threshold.
- Claude, Codex, Cursor, and OpenCode failures say why a turn couldn't start or was rejected.
- An OpenCode tool killed for using too much memory no longer stops every OpenCode thread.
- A failed run shows Failed, not Completed, and a stopped turn no longer hides the next turn's diff.
- Settings saved while the server starts are no longer lost, and saving settings no longer reverts your own edits to
settings.json. - File saves no longer follow symlinks out of the workspace.
- Sites in the built-in browser can't post notifications without your permission.
- Checkpoints work in Windows workspaces with paths over 260 characters.
- A slow server update download no longer fails after 10 minutes, and
foundingbot-x updateorfoundingbot-x service restartrun from inside Founding Bot X no longer leave the service stopped. - SSH pairing asks for a password or a verification code, and an interrupted SSH pairing picks up where it left off.
- fish shells no longer stall for 10 seconds when a terminal starts.
- Threads that finish together play one completion sound.
- Snoozed threads no longer wake early after background updates.
- Status animations and scrolling respect Reduce Motion.

Version 0.1.2
October 19, 2026
Founding Bot X
- Founding Bot Connect is here. Reach your computers from your other devices and from x.founding.bot, without setting up router forwarding or a private network.
- On the desktop app, open Settings → Connections, sign in, and turn on Founding Bot Connect for that computer.

foundingbot-x connectand follow the sign-in instructions. Over SSH it prints a link and a short code you can approve from any device. - On your other devices, sign in to the same account and choose the computer.
- Sign in with your Founding Bot account in the desktop app, the web app, and the command line. Signing out of the desktop or web app revokes the sign-in.

- A new pairing includes every permission unless you choose some with
--scope. Devices you've already paired keep the permissions they have.
Faster
- The chat view, sidebar, settings, and dialogs re-render far less while agents work, reconnect, or update their status.
Fixes
- A slow but healthy Codex no longer shows as Unavailable.

Version 0.1.0
October 16, 2026
Founding Bot X is now in Beta.
Founding Bot X everywhere
- The apps, the
foundingbot-xcommand, and everything they print now say Founding Bot X. Remote access through an account is now called Founding Bot Connect; it isn't available yet, so connect your machines over your local network, Tailscale, or a pairing link for now. - Agents now see Founding Bot X tools (
foundingbot_x_*) and instructions. npx @foundingbot/xis now a small launcher. On first run, it downloads this release for your computer from founding.bot, checks it, and runs it.

- Drag a linked pull request into the composer to add it as context, choose to open pull request links on GitHub, and delete a pull request's branch after it's merged or closed.
- Worktrees of settled threads are cleaned up automatically, and auto-settling inactive threads can keep the ones with a pull request.
